Journalism is not dying; it’s changing — the message Michigan State University professors inspired Cortney Erndt with during her four years in East Lansing, Mich. Throughout her career thus far, that revolutionary ideology has only proven itself to be true. Cortney has been an associate editor at Group Tour Media since January of 2015. With the help of her editorial teammates, Cortney oversees Student Group Tour magazine and contributes to Group Tour Media’s other publications. In May of 2014, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in journalism. In college, she enjoyed writing and copy editing for various news and marketing publications. Her reporting experience ranges from legislative controversies to entertainment beats. You may have seen Cortney’s byline in Recoil Magazine, Grand Rapids Business Journal, Holland Sentinel, Sturgis Journal or Pioneer, among other Michigan publications. In addition to Holland, Mich., Cortney also has lived in Daytona Beach, Fla. Her favorite travel destinations include large cities, like Chicago and New York City. However, the warm sand of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, also is nonetheless gratifying. In her spare time, Cortney enjoys the beautiful coasts of Lake Michigan and concert-going. She is particularly fond of listening to and performing rock ‘n’ roll music. Cortney also enjoys reading psychological thrillers and transgressional fiction.
